Denon avr 4311ci audyssey setup issue

I have a 11.2 system. Before running Audyssey setup, I set subwoofers to 2 speakers. On the back of the subwoofers, I set the volume and phase at 50% and the frequency at max. I think it's something like 200 Hz.

When audyssey starts, it says my subwoofer volume is too high and I have to turn down the volume of the subs until it reads 75db or thereabouts. I turn the sub volumes down to 25% each and it's at about 75db. I proceed. Everything appears to work fine, but when audyssey is done, it states I only have 1 subwoofer.

If I manually set subwoofer to 2 speakers, I got good sound from both subs. I just want to make sure each sub is having it's distance and volume set correctly. I know audyssey has one correction curve that it applies to both subs.

This has happened to me twice.

Ay ideas of what is going wrong?
