Denon AVR-4311 11.2 Speakers set up

I have Denon AVR-4311 AV Receiver which has built in power amplifier and pre-amp but it cannot play all 11.2 speakers. For that need additional external power amplifier.
I got Marantz MM8077 which is 7 channel, FL, FR, C, SL, SR, SBL, SBR. Remaining 4, FHL, FHR, FWL, FWR, I connect to my Denon Amplifier.
If I connect my 7 speakers to the Marantz power Amp then in Denon AVR-4311, when I do 11 speakers set up it only gives me option 'Front' or 'Height' which one I should select. If I select any one, then I would be getting just 9 channels, how would I get remaining 2 speakers 'Front Wide'.

Can, anyone guide me on this as Denon manual is not explicit on this part.

Further, I got Mordaunt Short Alumni 9 Subwoofers. I am using 2 of these subwoofers connected to Denon AVR-4311.
The Subwoofer has option 'Phase' 0 or 180. Where should I set. My Denon dealer advised to set both to 180 whereas manual says set to 0 and some forums say somewhere between and some say one at 0 and other at 180 so there are all confusing replies.

Frequency range on subwoofer is 25Hz to 110Hz. where should I set it.

Subwoofer has swtich to select between 'Sub' or 'LFE'. Which one I should select.
Can anyone guide me on all these issues.

What amp assign settings are you using? Check that part of the manual.

Start with phase at 0 and adjust as needed (see what setting gives you better bass response)

Set the sub to max out its low pass filter, altho some subs do that automatically when you use the LFE input (which is what you want, let the avr control the crossover).

You need to have the latest version of the manual not the original one. That tells me you probably need to have the latest FW update as well in order to have the 11.2 options.

If you have the latest manual, start on page 61 and go from there.

Edit: Compared the manuals I downloaded a few years ago with the latest, they looked the same.

So the first release didn't have the 11ch capability without a fw update? Is this a situation for batpig's Denon to English guide?

No, I have not checked out batpig's. Since you asked, I just compared the manuals I downloaded way back with the one I did yesterday and found that they have the same name and the contents seem the same. So my assumption was incorrect. Good thing I did say "probably", about the FW update. Regardless, if in doubt about the latest features, it is always good to make sure FW is up to date. For example, my old 4308 and 7005 wouldn't have DEQ, DV stuff if the FWs were not up to date. Anyways, thanks again for asking..

If in doubt about whether a fw update addresses your issues, you should check the contents of the fw update before just blindly doing one IMO, far too many problems result from unneeded fw updates gone wrong from what I can see over the years. A good source for info about a particular Denon's fw status can be had in the "official" thread for that avr over on AVS.

As to batpig was just wondering if the 4311's manual was as hard to understand as some older Denon manuals were known to be, which is what batpig developed in the way of a Denon to English translation...altho my understanding of the amp assign for the 4311 is more from my 4520 that has a similar amp section. http://batpigworld.com/wp/

Hopefully OP has squared away his issues?
