Denon AVR-3808CI, Yamaha RX-V3800, or Sony STR-DA5300ES?

I will go for the Denon. Traditionally better sound and quality.

I listen to a variety of music. Recently I had a HK reciever and now a new oky 875.
I think considering music only, not HT, the recording ,mixing , production of the cd/dvd is the most improtant aspect of how the the amp sounds. Therefore all of the amp ~$1000- $2500 sound good to me if I am listening to a good jazz production such as Fourplay.

Agree, that's why to compare the sound of different amps one must do it under controlled conditions. One of the control is to use the same CD/DVD.
