This looks great. I have two questions. If I run the HDMI cable to my projector and if my projector is not HDMI 1.3 will I still get video? Also, if I hook up a bluray or HD DVD player using the HDMI outs on both of these units will I get True HD and DTS HD MA sound if the units are not HDMI 1.3? Or, will I still have to wait for the new chipset and HDMI 1.3 capability with BluRay and HDMI 1.3 capability with HD DVD?

Yes you will still get video.

Currently I don't believe there are any HD players that will send TrueHD or DTS MA to a receiver via bitstream. All current players decode TrueHD internally and send it to the receiver via PCM. So yes you would currently get TrueHD. I do not think there are any current HD players that will decode DTS MA so for that you will have to wait.

Don't worry too much right now about HDMI 1.3. The Denon is a great receiver and everything you have now will work with it. Most of the features in HDMI 1.3 will not be implemented anytime soon.

As we know HDMI 1.3 is the latest spec and is backward compatible so it accepts all previous specs but not visa-versa. Just remember, "a chain is only as strong as its weakest link".
