You just emailed him everything?
I e-mailed Denon (there was a link in the thread I read from somewhere) support guy asked me to provide him with my Update ID from the unit and a proof of purchase. I sent him the info and he activated my unit to be able to access this update from their servers. I bought my unti Oct so the update was free.

Received an email today with instructions on how to get my free upgrade. I bought the receiver about 2 1/2 weeks ago, decided I did not want to do the mail in rebate, so a week and a half ago I mailed in a copy of the receipt, upc code, and the form. I received the approval email today, so it was a lot quicker turn around than I expected. I probably won't do the upgrade until the weekend though. And as an FYI, my instructions on how to do the upgrade was in my spam folder of my email. Good thing I check it now, who knows how many things I missed when I blindly deleted it before.

Now if only I could get my money back for the Marantz I returned over 2 weeks ago.

This upgrade should be free for everyone. I pinged Denon about this and have yet to hear back. I would advocate that all of us do just that.
I paid for my unit just like everyone else did and I committed even earlier to it. So why should I not benefit as well. They could at least offer the Audyssey upgrades a'la carte. Those are the only features I'm interested in anyway. I don't believe in paying for services like satellite radio. And if I did it would be because I choose to live in a remote and barren place devoid of humanity.

I agree. It's like paying for an operating system upgrade so they can install pay services like Napster/AOL/Norton Anti-virus along with one or two features that actually benefit the consumer.

Well, it added Audyssey Dynamic EQ, Dynamic Volume and Rhapsody but it wont let me turn on Audyssey Dynamic EQ or Dynamic Volume. Rhapsodyseems to work just fine.

Final update on the feature upgrade.

I have not experienced any issues with the download. My AVR functions as well as before so maybe any of the "bugs" that some people have experienced has been worked out.

The issue with being unable to turn on the Audyssey Dynamic EQ or the Dynamic Volume was solved by a re-cal of the Audessy.

Rhapsody seems like a cool ideal but seems to cut out and lose the server quite a bit.

The only thing I have not liked about this AVR is the center dialog is not as clear as it was with my Yamahas. It sounds fine with the Audessy turned off but is muddy with it on. So in the end, my feature upgrade provided me with a few features that I can't really use.
