I have the this amp and I have been struggling to set the video out to HDMI. My sources are:
DVD -> 1RCA
Direct TV HDMI out -> HDMI 1 in

On the system setup, DVD is configured to 1RCA, the DTV HDMI is configured to DBS. The HDMI output Convert is ON. After this setup and go to Function knob and select either DBS or DVD, there is no picture on my Panasonic Plasma 50". I am using 12Ft HDMI cable. If I bypass the AMP and connect the HDMI cabledirectly to DTV I get a signal. I called Denon tech support and the guy is not helpful. In other word no technical knowledge. Can anyone help? My dark hair is changing to gray.

Your settings seem ok, and similar to mine. Are you getting audio for DVD and DTV?

Regardinng the DVD player, is it in Progressive mode. The Panasonic does not accept 480i over HDMI. Make sure your signal has format allowed on the input, and at least 480p.

Regarding not seeing any video, the Denon receiver allows you to mix and match audio and video sources on the fly. Thy this, in input "DVD" mode, use the "Video Select" function to scroll through various video inputs. Maybe they are mismatched. Repeat same for input "DBS".

agarwalro, thanks for your advise. yes the dvd is 480i.

If i used OSD, I'm not getting a text on the screen so I think the Denon is DOA. I used the component monitor and it works on DVD only
