Zone 2 preout not working (no sound). Main Zone works fine.

I have four auxiliary rooms with in-ceiling speakers. With zone 2 selected on the 3805 no sound from speakers. I have a Niles SI 275 with its main inputs connected to the 3805 Zone 2 left & right outputs. The power amp assign of the 3805 is set to Zone 2.

My previous 3805 (just replaced) drove the four room speakers with no problem.

I appreciate any assitance.

Regards

Dennis

Do you have analog connections for the source you are trying to play in zone2? Zone2 will not output sound from any device connected digitally.

...and have you gone in and setup zone 2 properly in the setup menu? Line out in your case, you do not want to power that zone if you are using an external amp.

Me Too!!!

I'm a new 3805 owner and have gotten everything set up to my liking.......and everything works fine BUT; I've got a "B" set of speakers in the kitchen and haven't been able to get them online either. I've got the amp set to zone 2 and tried all settings......mainly just been trying to get the tuner to play thru zone 2 so it's not a digital connect issue.......any help from other 3805 owners??.......thx..

Are you using a seperate amp? If not you need to set zone 2 to be powered by the internal amp, then adjust the volume from zone 2 on the remote. The speakers need to be connected to surround back mulitzone not surround "B".

Thanks you guys. I too was having the same problem with power to zone 2. I didn't realize that it was necessary to use the remote to set the volumn. What a great thing it is that you guys are willing to help us amateurs. I've been struggling with this problem for along time. I've called denon and none of their tech's seemed to know what to tell me. Some I could not understand. Anyway thanks so much. dunsc new to Audioholics
