Please help! I have a Sony TV 65x950G and a Denon Receiver avr-3312ci and for the life of me I can not get my tv to recognize the receiver. I have tried to reset the receiver and nothin. I’m running high speed HDMI cable from arc out on the receiver to arc on the tv. There is also optical cable ran. I only stream Netflix and prime and listen to music. No DVD player or gaming system. With my tv not recognizing the receiver I can not get into the setup menu and have no sound.

Yeah I completely understand. What do you suggest for an av receiver? My budget will be no more than $600. It would be strictly for Music and movies but I like power. I have 2 synergy F3’s Towers along with a klipsch center and sub. Rears will be last.

A more up to date 3xxx series in the form of a new Denon 3500 is for sale on Amazon for $600....or you can check out refurb models at accessories4less.com (but keep in mind the terms of sale there and warranty length varies a bit). The 3xxx series has pre-outs so you have the external amp option. The Klipsch speakers are relatively sensitive, tho, so even the avr alone should be fine for most purposes.

I recommend Yamaha for possible better reliability and compatibility. And much better WiFi remote app and music streaming app.

You tried to reset the receiver- did it display what the manual says it should after you pressed the buttons? If not, do it again.

Go into the menu and make sure the sources are assigned, including TV and any ARC or HDMI control settings. Look at the HDMI cable connected to the TV, too- if it shows 'Display' on one end and 'Source' on the other, make sure they're at the correct ends because ARC doesn't work on cables that are installed backward (hey, it happens). Also, if you are using any kind of HDMI coupler, make sure it's not active- ARC doesn't work when the signal passes through those, either. For that matter, make sure the cable isn't an older Redmere version- many of those stopped working after an HDMI update a couple of years ago.

If possible, move the AVR close to the TV and try a different cable- if it works, your longer cable is likely at fault.

For testing purposes, take the cover off your denon, get a hairdryer, find the dts chip on your hdmi board. Get the chip hot enough to have expanded and turn on the unit. If it comes up you have a solder issue. It will stop working again when the chip cools. You could fix it. Hot air gun, flux, thermal paste, heatsink. I have done this to 4 receivers from this era and it worked. It's on YouTube. 50 bucks for a fix or buy new.

I dont know if you try that, but as far as I remember you have to go in the receiver menu and find you tv, same with the tv, go in the menu and try to find the receiver. What I mean is that function need to be on on both devices in order to work, I had a AVR-3311CL back in the days and that is what I remember.
