Denon AVR-2807 Thread

At last, the Denon AVR-2807 has been released on the Denon website.

I am thinking about recommending this to a friend but I wanted to read some chatter before telling him to pull the trigger.

Is there any chance that this will actually be able to switch HDMI signals from a cable box? I doesn't seem like any receivers with HDMI switching have been able to actually do this. I realize that most people think it is a set top box problem.

Does anyone know if this will be available in Silver?

Thoughts?

Silver, yes

According to the CNET review of the 2807 from CES 2006 (found here), it will be available in black and silver.

As for your HDMI question, I am still skeptical. The 2807 is compatible with the HDMI 1.1 standard. This matches the previous receivers that have been reported to have issues with some cable boxes (3806, 4306 come to mind).

...Because the other is about a specific avr-2807 question

The other thread was very specific in the title. It is about a specific question regarding the AVR-2807 and Denon Link. That would be like saying in a car forum titled "Ford Explorer and the Air Conditioner" you should post general questions on the Explorer.

In my opinion the other thread was too specific and should have been titled different.
