Denon AVR-2803 Question

Recently, my wife & I purchased a new tele that lacks S-video & composite video inputs. While not terribly noteworthy, it becomes such when trying to reconfigure the Denon AVR-2803, as the onscreen display outputs only to S-video or composite; component doesn't work.

Has anyone out here encountered & conquered a similar problem? Unfortunately, a new receiver or $300 S-video to HDMI converter is not in the budget. What (useful) suggestions you may have would be appreciated. Reply here or to dseiler@off242.com.

If you have an unused component video input on the TV, plug the Monitor output to the green component input (that's the one used for synch) and see if that works. The display will be odd-colored, but you'll be able to see what you're doing. Another way is to buy a small TV that has the composite input you need- I use a 7" LCD Eviant that I bought at K-Mart for setting up security cameras but you'll need to try it to find out if the text will be too small to read.
