Denon AVR 1905: Possible to hookup DVD burner from PC?

Hi Everyone,

I recently bought a Denon AVR 1905 from Good Guys for $294. They are consolidating the local store with CompUSA and ran some very attractive sales. I now have a Sony DVP-NS575P hooked up using the coax out for audio, and the S-Vid. directly into my older Sony KV-27V40. Despite what the manual says, this was how the manager at Good Guys told me how to connect it, and it seems to work fine.

My PC has a DVD burner in it that records and plays dual layer. The video card on the PC will handle S. Vid. out. What is the best way to incorporate this into my receiver?

Without saying, I'm a newbie, and all answers are appreciated.

Thanks again,

Tom

Sounds like you already figured out the video part, just run the S-video from the PC into the receiver's DVD video in.

The audio may be a little tougher...what kind of sound card do you have? If you have one with optical digital out, it'll be easy--run the optical out directly into the optical in on the receiver. Analog out only or "headphone-jack" only will be a bit tougher...
