Denon AVR-1612 question

Recently bought a Denon avr-1612 and am very happy with the sound output considering that this is an entry level amp. Only one issue I can't figure out though. When powering down the amp or when switching hdmi the audyssey dynamic volume is automatically switched to off and I have to go into sound settings and reset each time.

Not a really big deal but kind of annoying that it doesnt save my last setting. Anyone know if there is a way to save this setting? I really like the feature for TV watching.

Hi, Doug. Does it save your other settings? That Denon, per page 45 of the owners manual, should save the last settings that you used for each input, and it should store the settings used before going into standby. That's not unusual, btw. If it's not saving any settings, that would point towards something beyond just the Dynamic EQ issue.

So, hopefully someone here either knows or can spot in the manual what is causing this. Until then, I'd suggest using the "QUICK SELECT" memory buttons on the remote control, also explained on page 45. By using that for your TV (and, it appears, up to three other input sources), you can set a few different things including the Audyssey mode. When you press one of those buttons to select your TV, it should set it all up for you.

Yes it does save all settings but the dynamic volume setting. There are some audyssey settings that you are not allowed to change though from the auto set-up but I believe this normal. I read the same thing you did in the manual about the receiver saving the last sound setting per input so that is where I am stumped. Thanks for your help.

Figured it out, had to hold down each quick input for few seconds to save settings. Thanks for the reply though.
