Denon AVR-1603 Problem

I've got a problem with my home theatre system. I'll give you some back ground on my system.
I have:

Panasonic PT-43LC14K LCD TV
Motorola HD Cable Box
Samsung DVD-HD850
Denon AVR-1603 Receiver
Energy 22 Main Speakers
Energy XL-C100 Center Speaker
Energy XL-S8 Subwoofer
PSB Alpha S Rear Speakers.

I've got everything working properly that when I'm watching a HD station in Digital through my cablebox my receiver kicks over to tell me that is Dolby Digital signal and when not in a Digital Station, goes back to say PL2 M.

The problem I'm having is when I watch a DVD and put it in Dolby Digital or THX for the best sound quality, my receiver does not display the Sound it should say and I don't think I'm getting the best sound quality it should get. What setting do I have set up wrong?

If anybody has ideas, please let me know. Any help is grateful.

This is completely normal. You must have the Dolby Prologic II decoder set as the default for the Input you use for HDTV. The receiver won't display that when watching a DVD because the DVD will be in Dolby Digital and will override your setting. When the DVD is finished, the receiver will jump back to your default.

Can you explain this a little better please? I'm afraid I can't quite understand what you mean. When you watch a DVD, your receiver should light up with Dolby Digital or dts (if you selected that in the DVD's menu). If you are asking whether it should still be displaying Dolby Prologic II, then no, it should not.
