Hi All,

Just a quick question to see if anyone else is having trouble with the Denon app?

I started having issues about 2 months ago. The Denon app would not recognize the 2nd zone. The app would just show a "Null" then it would freeze up if you tried to click. The main zone worked fine.

After some frustration I decided to delete and re-download the app to see if that would help clear the bug. Well things have went from bad to worse. Now when i open the app it goes to the "find AVR" screen. It finds my AVR but then freezes shortly after that every time.

Curious if I'm the only one having issues.

Thanks

The Audyssey app can be quite temperamental, if you check the reviews for it most people will complain about constant crashes. (some amid calibrations, mind you)
Another thing to consider is your version of the Android/iPhone OS as it could be negatively affecting the app itself as well.

On a side note, if people think hardware troubleshooting is bad, software troubleshooting is the secret boss.

Hi Antares,

Thanks for the reply. Just to be clear on my end, this is the Denon app. Not the Audyssey app or the HEOS app.

Not sure if that changes your response.

Cheers

Hi lovinthehd

TBH not sure how to do that. Probably could from a laptop. Believe i did that many years go for a different reason. But I’m unsure how to do that from a mobile device/tablet.
Laptop or android device can work. Try and find the avr on your net to startl...

Is that practical long term? Adjusting the volume and zones from a laptop? I guess it’s better than getting up and going to the receiver in a different room. But an App on the phone is the way to go. Especially when laptops are not in use in the house Often. I might be missing the point :p

Been doing it a long time myself. I don't adjust volume from the source usually, tho. Your own specific use/convenience is key, tho

It does actually as I don't use the Denon app all that often.
I'm old school and prefer a good old remote.
So I can't infer on what I don't know.

I have an app on my android phone that reads a GPS module (CarLock) that tells me if my car has moved, started or if there is a big vibration. I had a Samsung Galaxy and it crashed, locked up, didn't tell me the engine started, etc. I reinstalled it, talked to CS a couple of times, lots of emails back and forth, nothing really helped. A friend of mine linked his phone to it and had zero issues, so I bought a new phone. I still had issues, different from the first phone, until one day when I took my car in to get the oil changed, and it suddenly started working perfectly and has kept on working perfectly. I have no idea why or how it fixed itself, but it's flawless now.

They aren't using the Denon App, just the HEOS app.
