Hi,
If you Google the product several professional reviews are available. One of the best can be located on the home page of this site. Another excellent one is at "secrets of home theatre"

Happy reading,

I have been trying to find reviews of the Yamaha Z-9 and have for the most part unsuccessful. I would appreciate if if you few who own them would comment on how great it is or not and are there any bugs to be ironed out by Yamaha? I have noticed that the Anthem 20 pre/pro (which I am also investigating) seems to have many problems. After spending so much money on a component, I really do not want bugs to drive me crazy. Thank you.

I should be getting a review sample of an RX-Z9 shortly after CES. However, I am up to my armpits in product reviews and as you know the Z9 is a very sophisticated piece of gear. I am hoping to have a full blown review done sometime in February/March.

Well I can say since I have installed my reciever, I have had no problems. The setup was easy and the most important thing is that the sound is flawless.

From Classical to THX movies I am really impressed so far.

Many things still to play with, so I'll let you know as I go.

My wife almost had a heart attack from the first movie we watched, as it was just like being in a theater.

Hi,
I Googled Yamaha z9 reviews and designtechnica.com was on the first page.
It basically has the specs and some Yamahaisms in the description but there are no end user reviews there yet.

The specs look like alot of bases have been covered, I look forward to Gene's thoughts when he's had a chance to give it a proper shakedown. If he goes through every DSP mode we may have to wait a while though.

The 5805 looks like it will regain the flagship reciever crown. It will be fun to watch. I'm sure Yamaha is burning the midnight oil over the 5805.

Cheers :)
