Will the 4306 have the same sound processing chips that the 4806 has?

I am thinking about holding out for the 4306, as I will plan to add an out board amp at some point.

Would you wait, or will the 4806 have advantages over the 4306 that makes the 4806 a better unit?

I am leaving for a trip, and if I am going to buy the 4806 I can do it today.

The 4806 does have its advantages over the 4306. I myself have had the 4806 for about two months and would only trade it for the 5805. One of the biggest differences and more useful to me is the fact that in the 4806 your sub crossover point can be independentlly controlled for each set of speakers. Meaning your main L&R speakers are crossed over at a different freq than your surroundsand so on. The 4306 doesnt have this feature. Also the 4806 has enough power to drive 4 ohm loads that are descentlly efficient ie. 90db or higher. So if you got the cash spring for the 4806 you wont be dissapointed. Im very satisfied with mine.

I just about anguished over the specs / price delta on the 4306-4806. Tuesday I purchased the AVR-4806. I probably will not use the full capabilities of the unit till my new home gets built, but at least I won’t have upgrade remorse later.
