Hi guys I just upgraded to a Denon 4700H (from an ancient Harmon kardon) and I have a couple issues I'm wondering if anyone else is having or if I just need to call Denon and see if have a faulty product. First issue is that every time I power off the receiver I have to go through the wireless network setup every time I power it back on. Other issue is that it is not recognizing a hard wired connection as I figured this would be a better connection and solve my disconnection issues wirelessly. Is anyone else experiencing anything like this or heard of this as a known issue? Is there special ethernet cable that I need for a hard wire? I was using CAT6. Thanks in advance.

I'd try a reset personally, first a soft reset (just unplug the 4700 for a little while) and if that didn't clear it up I'd try a full microprocessor/factory reset. Will be much faster than sitting on hold and getting a similar suggestion from Sound United at least....

ps Is there something odd/unusual about your network setup whether wirelessly or wired?

"Special" ethernet cable? No such thing.

Make sure to save the network settings and that Network Standby is on. Once you set it up, open a browser download a phone app called 'Fing'- once it has been downloaded, start the app and enter the AVR's IP address so you can PING it. If it times out, it doesn't have a good connection. If it's hard wired and doesn't PING, you may need to reset the network card in the AVR.

If it's new, the first things needed after it comes out of the box- hard reset and firmware update.
