Looking to replace my NAD receiver. I can get the 4310 for $1800 or the 4311 for $2500 or the 7005 for $1800 or the 3008 for $2400. Im in canada so the prices are higher here, so anyways, is there a clear winner or something else I should look at? Cambridge audio? Should I stay with a Nad? My speakers are 600 ser. B and W's.

Please help, any comments or suggestions welcome.:)

If it were me, I'd be all over that AVR-4311, that thing is really nice.

I think you should go with the less expensive models.

That way, if something goes wrong after 2 yrs, you can use that extra cash to fix it.

Or use that extra cash to buy a "back up" or "spare" AVR or external amp for more power.

I'm not in favor of spending a lot of money on AVRs.:D

Actually, I think you should just buy a refurbished Denon from eCost.com. I believe they ship to Canada. :D

But they don't have any refurbished 4311 models... that 4311 is aweseome, 9.2, the latest greatest audessy, preamp mode, airplay, etc... lots of good reasons to get this model over any of the others.

The denon looks great, although personally i'd wait it out for a marantz AV7005 (not SR7005) and pair it with an Emotiva UPA-7 or an Outlaw 7125.

True, the AVR-4311 is better than the AVR-4310 in terms of features. But I guess the question is whether it is worth the difference of $1,560?

AVR-4311 brand new = $2500

AVR-4310 refurbished = $940

With the savings of $1500, he could get another AVR for back-up or more amps, etc.

Only the OP can answer that. Tough choice.

Or wait a little while for a refurbished 4311, or a 4311 on ebay. Or just decide what features he really wants/needs, and then get the most appropriate receiver.

Thanks guys, Im still not sure what to do. I see most people are Denon fans, surprise surprise.lol Are they better or is eveyone just a fan. The onkyo 3008 had audyssey32 too. I priced out a nad 775 and its 3500 so I dont think its in the running anymore.

Don't listen to fans, listen to specs. Compare the specs of the 4311 and the 7005 and forget the hearsay about Marantz sounds better. Subjectively may be they do but they are both designed by engineers and then built to specs not built to people's personal sonic preference.

If you wish to go with Denon I know of a place where for sure you will get price closer to that in the US. I doubt you need to pay 2500 for the 4311, that would be crazy.

Thanks peng. pm me the place and ill give them a call.
I sent you the link to their website. They sell Denon, Marantz and Pioneer, not sure if they sell Onkyo. By the way, if you are sure you don't need 3D then the 4310 may be better. It has the ABT video processor if you believe in using AVR to upscale. To me it is a waste of money to have ABT or Reon on board AVR but that's just my opinion.

I'm in the similar situaiton that I don't know if I should pick the Marantz AV7005/Denon 4311 or 4310. I do have the amp already so I would only be using the processor section in the receiver.
Right now price dictates that seems 4310 but AV7005 seems to be a great product, any ideas?

I'd love to have the link in a PM as well. I am looking at the AV7005 or AVR 4311.
