Denon 4308 WiFi probems

Greetings all,

I have spent a while searching for an answer this so I figured I would simply post.

I am having troubles connecting my WiFi on the Denon 4308 receiver to any WiFi network?

I live in a Condo and there are a bunch of open networks as well as my closed personal one. I thought perhaps because I use an Apple Airport Extreme it may not be getting along, but some of the open networks are brands such as Belkin, Linksys and DLink.

I tried manually inputting the data into the receiver such as IP address, gateway etc and still no dice. The receiver has the ability to connect via ETHERNET however and works fine but is being a bugger with any WiFi signal. I have upgraded the firmware over the ethernet connection but I do not want to keep the cable attached.

Has anyone had this problem or know of a solution?

I have still not found a solution to this, I will call Denon themselves when I can and post what i find out. In the meanwhile if you have run into this please definitely post your efforts.

I contacted Denon and they made the following suggestion

"Good day sir

Please ensure that your SSID is set to broadcast, and that there is no spaces in the SSID. Please let me know if this does not help.

Well I got it to work with one of these suggestions. I set my SSID to ONE name (instead of multiple names with a space) . I eliminated all spaces in the name and made it a simple name, it seems to work fine now, very very odd because there are other open networks in my building most of which do have multiple names.

Hope this helps anyone else who may run into this problem in the future.

Glad you got it figured out. I guess that info is not available in the manual huh? Are you feeling better about the 4308 now?
