Bay Bloor Radio is getting rid of their 3805's for $1199 CDN. That's a great price up north of the border. Yes I know you Yanks can get them for $500 or $600 but the MSRP up here is in the $2K neighborhood while for you guys it's like $1200. FIgured I'd pass it along. No kidding about the price difference, you'd think with our currency value right now you'd see better prices.

You could go online and order from the States but by the time you're done with the duties/taxes/shipping, things usually don't end up to be much a deal, IMHO.

We're pretty much at 85 cents on the dollar but no products in Canada get cheaper ever, you should know that HookedOnSound, lol. I agree that it doesn't make sense, our dollar is morth more than it has been in a long time but purchasing power has only changed internationally, oh well. Wrong froum to discuss world economics . My Marantz 8400 cost me about $700-$800 Cad by the time all import duties and taxes were paid, it originally cost $451 US or about $540 cad. That means I paid close to $250 to ship it from the states and actual shipping was only $40 US. Still a great deal in my opinion, but getting anything across that border is murder on the pocket book.

yep, that border causes more problems then anything else. I want an SVS subwoofer. Fat chance shipping one up from the states. Literally doubles the price.

I'm holding out until SVS opens a store here. If they want my business, they need to earn it.

There's also a coupon for another $50 attached to the flyer. More than likely with a little negotiation you could get it for $1149 taxes in. Maybe even cheaper. I'd say maybe even 50% off original MSRP. My local dealer was clearing out the Denon 2900 when he 2910 came out and I was able to get it for $850(original MSRP $1800)

Nice snag, I know that the guys from the states don't think this pricing is anything special, but they should check out denon.ca and look at the MSRP's we're expected to pay. One thing I have noticed is that the "wiggle room" the dealers in Canada have is a little greater than what you hear about in the US when it comes time to negotiate a final price.
