DefTech SuperCube 2000 issue.

So I sold my def tech super cube 2000 to my friend. Before I sold it I had no issues. I was over my friends house listening to music at a very high level and I notice the sub was not playing. I reached down to mess with the sub and it turned back on. It cut on and off all night very randomly.

I assumed it was the safety cutting on and off, but now my friend says it does it at normal listening volumes.... Does anyone have an answer to why it cuts on and off randomly?

Thanks!

Hi. It might be the cable. Sometimes the connectors get loose (e.g. from solder connections breaking) causing an intermittent connection. I'd suggest trying a different cable to see if the issue goes away.

Thanks Adam. I think you are right. He is using old cable. So far working great!

Definitive Technology has really great tech support so don't hesitate to call them if the issue returns. They sent me brand new mid-range speakers for my out of warranty BP7006s for no charge. They are also very knowledgeable and friendly.
