DefTech BP-8 - Best matching speakers?

I recently picked up some DefTech BP-8 speakers at a really good deal and want to build another sytem around them. I was thinking of using them as the surround channels in a 5.1 setup but what other DefTech BP series speakers would be good to use for the front stereo and center channel? I'm trying to avoid a seperate subwoofer in this setup unless necessary.

any of the BP 7XXX series would work perfectly if you don't want to have seperate subs. depending on room size the C/L/R's are great center channels and all of them will match the BP-8's you own now

Any Def Tech speakers with the same size drivers as your BP8's would work great in a 5.1 surround setup. I am not familiar with the BP8's, but it should not be too difficult to do a little research to find the 7000 series and which CLR center speaker that have the same size drivers.

Regarding not using a dedicated sub--even with built in subs in the main front speakers, a dedicated sub is needed. When I purchased my 7000 mains, I figured I could retire my old PowerField 1800 sub and did do so for a while, figuring that the built-in reference supercubes would suffice. One day I was tweaking and decided to connect up the old dedicated subwoofer and found the difference in LFE to be as much as the difference between night and day. IMHO, if you wish decent LFE, you will need a dedicated sub perhaps in a wish list for the future.

In retrospect, I would rather have my 7000's or a pair of 7001's without ANY built-in subs (would be VERY similar to BP30's) and then have dedicated stand-alone subs. YMMV

What do I gain, or lose, if my speakers don't have matching driver sizes?

Nothing much, as all Def Tech speakers are timber matched. How big is your space and budget?

an extremely small 12x12 room. i've gutted it out. there's nothing in there but a nice sofa, speakers, and the gear so it's dedicated. i've treated the horrible echo of the room with auralex acoustic foam. what a night and day difference! the bass traps have helped a lot too. i was thinking of some bp7002 towers, a clr2500 center, the bp-8s for the surrounds i've got now, and 2 supercubes (not sure what size).
