I had RBH sound upgrade the driver's in my T1 and T2 to the reference level drivers and new crossovers.

They sound amazing. Question for the group. I had it set up as a 7.3 system. Would it make sense to upgrade the surround speakers to reference as well (roughly $150 per surround) and maybe make the system 5.3 and have the back speakers become height speakers.

I'm probably going to grab this along with the DSOTM version.

How was the mix?
The mix is a bit subdued vs. DSoTM. It is spacious, but more ambient than movement. It does sound very good though. The more interesting thing is the bonus tracks, which I spent a lot of time on. There's demos, a few acoustics, and alternate recordings. They are all worth a listen for sure.

65" TCL QM8K on BF sale... just dropped off on the porch and safely tucked away inside. :)
You are really going to ENJOY the QM8K . I have the 2024 model 55QM7. Even black and white movies are great. Netflix Dolby Vison movies are out of this world. Enjoy your new TCL. I had mine delivered by BB, Sept 2024. My wife has her own TCL. No conflict of interest.....lol

We had a new Maytag, 7 cu ft, gas dryer installed yesterday. We have a Maytag Impeller washing machine, that is 8 years old. Our previous GE gas dryer was only 3 years old....big mistake. Sounded like a bearing was going bad with so much noise. Not wanting to wait for repair and costs.

I've long wondered why so many who buy the Isoacoustics Gaia isolation feet for their speakers, which in most cases should have decent high-quality inert cabinets, say that it "tightens up the bass" and other dubious claims.

Now I get to experience the possible psychoacoustic properties or actual improvement with the Gaia II, with my own speakers. I am waiting for the mating carpet spike pads to come in before I can fit them to my speakers, but it'll be soon enough. I got them used, for a killer price that made it acceptable to me for the experiment, and I can resell for what I paid if I find no real benefit.

Got a Denon 4802 for $80... Haven't been able to use it yet in a setup where I use another older AVR but interested to see how it sounds.

Nice! My best friend from high school bought one last month when he came out here to visit, first thing we did was take it up Pikes Peak.
Much more fun in four wheel drive is mount Baldy (local name) next to Pikes Peak, the top is gated off though. The short gated road is just a side trail and the main trail goes on past the gated stub and comes out at some reservoirs. You can go across the road that leads to the main road road and drive up the creek on the other side (frozen fun) (Beware there is a, hopefully still blocked offside stub trail that is only really climbable by heavily modded 4WDs, that I do NOT recommend and might be private land.
There are some rougher/funner? side trails like Eagle Rock road.. in the area.
Note; these trails/ jeep roads have a risk of body damage (both to your self and the vehicle), they can be especially thrilling in the winter due to the off camber slide slippery nature of some spots.after the first snow. I recommend proper preparation including good mud tiers before going snow wheeling (there is no legal mud but all terrain tires are for the street and can pack up in the snow/mud, IMO).

Enjoy!

Yeah, the only off roading he has done is unmaintained roads in Iowa. I’ve been up Baldy a few times, never in the winter though. If I ever get back in off-roading I’ll take him out to Telluride/ouray and show him that.

Commute is going to be longer, so installing a charger at the house since we will be living there full time soon.

A bit , or a lot, of winter snow can turn baldy trails into an interesting (canreally increase the pucker factor) experience.
I can highly recommend a spring or fall trip to moab Utah; to all offroad four wheelers and off road bicyclists.
The traction is amazing; 4WD and bicycle heaven, trails from 2wd through death defying... combined with great scenery...
I too; am basically retired from off roading, but it was fun for a few decades.

Enjoy!

I use that as a gaming TV, great add
Well, I have Sony's 65" X90L already, which is no slouch either. Paid 1099.00 + taxes of course at BB. This Sony 65" B7, is sitting on my bedroom floor as of now.

Oldest Son will be here Monday to help me remove my X90L and install the B7 in my HT setup.. Did I need that B7, no I didn't. I'm still very happy with my X90L, 15 months old not one issue. My Oldest Son has that Sony B7 in a 75" got it this past May.

I picked up this 65" B7 for 999.00 + taxes,100 bucks less than what I paid for my 65" X90L over 15 months ago. B7 is brighter but not at 100% full screen use.

"Real world use" B7 is actually a little less bright at full screen, very close though. But B7 has much better blacks, higher peak brightness over 2200 nits at a % rate, has a master back light control, mini-led as opposed to full size LEDs that the X90L has, and much less blooming.

All though I myself I couldn't really see much of any blooming with my X90L. This wasn't a upgrade as much as it was a want. B7 will give me a true Dolby Vision experience. When used with a 4K player that utilizes DV which I have and a 4K UHD Blu-ray disc. Streaming services are a hit or miss. Since they all compress. Good but not as good as a 4K UHD disc though. But you know all of this though.

Audioengine A5+’s are set up, though the computer itself is still pending. Thank goodness for Bluetooth :p

Impulse purchased a set of Sennheiser IE900’s, so we’ll see how that goes.

Currently listening to my HD560S’s on my phone courtesy of a new Apple dongle for nine whole dollars.

Last but not least, for music on the go, a JBL Boombox 3 to replace some little turd Bose bluetooth speaker.
