Def Tech speaker question

I am currently auditioning a set of bp7006 speakers that I got on closeout at BB. I’ve seen online a designation for speaker #1 and speaker #2, but I noticed on the boxes that I have they are both marked speaker 2. Should I be concerned? What is the difference between speaker 1 and speaker 2? Are they asymmetrical?

These were open box items, so it's possible they were packed in the wrong boxes. Is there a way to tell from the speaker itself which speaker it is?

One speaker is for the right channel and one for the Left channel. They are mirror imaged
pairs. Call Definitive Tech and talk to them.

Yes I would check with DT on that. Their speakers have to be paired correctly......

Feel the sides of the cabinets

Three bass drivers per cabinet. One side has two drivers, the powered one about halfway up and a passive below it, while the other side just has one passive at the bottom. You can feel through the sock to see which side has the high mounted woofer. If your speakers have the powered drivers on opposite sides of the respective speakers resulting in a mirror image pair, you have the right speakers. If not, call BB and demand the proper matching speaker. And if that's the case, how f*ing lame of BB!

Well I guess BB is lame, 'cause I got two left speakers! I felt through the sock and sure enough, both powered drivers are on the same side.

Just took them back. It's too bad, I got a great deal on them, but they didn't work for my room anyway. They sounded great well away from the walls, but next to my entertainment center they lost the spacial sound that they are know for.

Time to move on to a new set of front speakers.
