Def Tech Reference In-Walls

Does anyone have any experience with the top of the line In-Walls from Def TEch?

Also, does anyone feel that dual Def Tech in wall subs are good enough for a HT set up?

I have heard the in-ceiling,but not the in-walls. The ceiling speakers were nice, but not great. If you are not set on DT, I have auditioned a set of Energy RC in-walls, and they were amazing. Also, the Atlantic Technology in-walls were super also. Good luck.

Unfortunately, I have not heard the new reference in-walls, but they would be one of my first choices for a little higher budget in-wall system. Are you going with a 5/7.# system? Do you prefer mono- or bi/di-pole surrounds?

Depending on the size of your room (H x L x W), a dual sub setup may be sufficient. Chet @ Def Tech should be a better source, send them an email.

I think I am going with a 7.1 but my question is should I use direct radiators of bi-pols for the sides and surrounds?

Generally, multi-poles are used for the side-surrounds while either could be used for the rears. Room layout and preference is the determining factor though.

I have UIW-94 front L/C/R and UIW-83 surround and rear speakers. I'm far from an expert, but I think they sound pretty damned good. I also have a pretty good 12" sub to bring out the bass, but I think the speakers are pretty good by themselves.
