What do you guys think of this system? I have listened to some def tech systems and liked the sound.

I think it might be a good replacement for my current system.

Or are there better options in the same price range?

Procinema 1000 good, but there are other options

1) What do you guys think of this system?

Termin8ted314,

1) I had a similar 5.1 system with PM1000 fronts, a PC1000 center, and PM800 surrounds and enjoyed it.
My brother has it now and he still enjoys it.

FWIW:
- I did not get the ProSub 1000 (went with a SVS PB10-NSD instead)
- I regreted not getting a PC2000 instead of the PC1000 center.
I felt the PC1000 was a bit light on providing clear dialogue in my 13'x18'x8' room.

2) For some other options, take a look at:

a) The SVS SBS-01 Systems for between $1055 to $1200 + shipping.

b) Also the HSU Research Package Deals, Enthusiast 1 or 2 for between $1150 to $1500 + shipping.

Cheers,

I was thinking of going with a different subwoofer. I would definitely upgrade the center to the 2000. I am going to try and listen to some more stuff in the stores this weekend.

There is no way that the DT is going to touch the SVS SBS-01 System.

I wish i could go listen to it.

You think for mostly movies and video games that would be a good system for the money? I was planning on spending like $1500 but could go up to 2000

For movies and games, you will not be able to beat the SVS. If you want to spend more money just upgrade the sub to one of their bigger ones.

Email them and tell them what you are using the system for and how big your room is and the will help you pick out the right system.

Well they have the option to upgrade to the PB12-NSD i could do that.

They will upgrade to whatever you want. Email or call them, you will be impressed. They don't try to upsale you, they will just tell you what will work best for you.

SVS recommended the same system with the pb10nsd or pb12nsd

I was also looking at the aperion intimus 5b fusion sd and the possibly an axiom system in the same range.
