Let me know how the cable choice turns out. It'll be more info I can file away. Anyway, Mike, seeing how you're such a subwoofer nut, why don't you build your own? I'm sure you could work something out with TC sounds to get their products shipped over at a reasonable charge. They make some monstrous drivers.

I have been reading the many posts about different receivers and it appears that the majoriety of members favor Denon and Yamaha. My Denon 1603 (purchased 2003 for 199.06) died last month I took the plunge and bought a Yamaha HT5059. I'am old school and I have a fear of new tecnology. That said, WOW, WHAT A MACHINE! iT WILL PROBABLY take a year to learn all of the good things about it. To all of you thanks for all your posts! As an old guy, I 'am overcoming my fear.

jaxvon, I wish I could ... I mean I could, but I have 10 thumbs (I will score a 0 on aesthetics)

my woodworking sucks.
my painting sucks.

I received the 3 samples yesterday btw ...
the two non double braided shielding doesn't have that much difference in "flexibility"
the double braid one is a lot thicker (and probably a lot less flexible) I don't know if this is because of the 20 gauge solid core or the double shielding and thicker jacket.

ok ... what does the RCA interconnect look like inside? what is easier to use on an RCA interconnect ... solid or stranded?

It may look something like this inside (of course, that's just one companys design).

Well, it was a nice thought. In that case, maybe you should test out some of the new subwoofers that TC sounds has coming out later this year. I think the big one has 3 15" drivers!

I ended up buying the 8241 coaxial cable (bought a roll of 1000ft. - too much even for two theaters, but couldnt bring myself to buy retail for twice the price/meter.

I also bought two rolls of gauge 12 speaker wire :)
