Feeding older Sony 200 disk CD changer to newer Denon 3805 Receiver.

Currently feeding via Analog RCA cables. Would there be an advantage to the Digital Optical?

Analog vs Optical

Hi,

If you are using analog cables (RCA), then the signal will be decode by the DAC inside your CD/DVD player and then sent to your receiver which will be used only for the amplification of the signal.

If you use a digital output (optic or coax), then your CD/DVD player will only transport the digital signal to your receiver who will decode the signal using its internal DAC and then amplify the signal.

If you have the chance, try both... .. this way you will decide which one gives you the best results !!!

Happy listening....

Use the digital out to the receiver. Best to pass the digital as far as possible.
