I always wonder that as well. Iirc the new jeeps up the line have mcintosh?! Wonder who actually designed and manufactures the components. (Wasn't bowers in jag for a quick min) I can only assume its a well built system but as we know car audio is a pita. My guess its all Delphi end of day, if there even in business anymore...Best factory system I've heard was the good ole monsoon gm put out years ago
Pretty sure there are a variety of cars with B&W systems still but good question as to who made the electronics, but would think they did their own speakers but who knows.

20 years in the auto business. Pretty much nothing is Delphi anymore in the car stereos, a few head units as many tie directly into the ECM and BCM (which Delphi does make) but mostly it’s farmed out to other companies. This is true with most home audio as very few companies make their own stuff. My guess is the higher end car stereos may in some cases be engineered by Mcintosh, Bose, Mark Levinson etc but pioneer, Sony or similar produces it. Finally sound engineers from those companies sometimes come out and tune the system. Fore example on a few high end Cadillacs the vehicles are shipped to Bose Labs in San Fransisco for real engineering and tuning but nobody is deluded as to Bose product quality. The newest Camry was sent to JBL and that’s a great system but again who actually made it. Beats systems in Dodges for awhile I’m pretty sure was Delphi and it was trash along with the Alpine systems which may be actual Alpine but the cheapest thing they had off the shelf. I could go on for awhile but the one gem that I don’t have actual knowledge of but I’ll bet the Focal systems in Peugeot and Alpha Romeo are the real deal. A friend is a GM of an Alpha Romeo dealership and I’ve got some free time, I may need to go visit.
