Dealing with Integra

Hello all,
I've had a good experience dealing with Integra; that I thought I'd share.
As my Integra DPC-5.3 CD/DVD changer approached the very end of it's three year warrantee, it began to skip, or not play some CD's.
I took it back to the dealer, it needed a laser. So, after a month, was told a laser could not be found. They'd spoke with Integra, and they would replace it with the current and equal model, a new DPC-7.5. Sounds good to me. I figured they'd give me something refurbished. After I'd slept on it, I called back Integra and asked if I could upgrade to an even better model, the DPC-8.5? They said "yes" but I'd have to pay about a $100. Sounded good too. They even mailed it to my house.
The only troubling thing, lasers seem to be the weak link in all the players I've owned. Two Sony players, and the Integra.

Good to hear about that kind of customer service! I have an Integra DPS 6.5 player, which I think does a very good job with the video on my Sony SXRD TV, even though it doesn't have upconversion. Just curious how the video is on your new 8.5? The three-year warranty was a real attraction too, since I listen to a ton of multichannel music. I wore out the laser in a Pioneer DV563A, so that warranty is really appealing - even more so now that I hear how well they back up their products!

Bruceh,
I've been using my OPPO up-converting player for DVD's (due to it's great video reviews)
So the Integra has been used 'audio only' so far. It's a six disk changer, so it's nice set on random, when we have friends over. When I do play a DVD on it, I'll let you know.
