Is DCDi needed in all components of system..TV and DVD?
Or just one like the TV?
Very confused about this.

Thanks

Only one component's DCDi system will be used. If you decode using a DVD player, then the TV won't reprocess the signal.

If you have a cheap DVD player and an expensive TV, chances are you'd want to let the TV process the interlaced video rather than use the cheap progressive scan (video processing) on the DVD player...

Try both and see which does the best job.

[Edit: DCDi implies Faroudja processing which will not show up in less expensive units, but you'll still need to try both methods to see which has better video processing]

Thanks for the reply...

I'm guessing you just turn DCDi on or off in the respective TV or DVD menues?

Does DCDi hold true for DVI also?

Thanks

DCDi is enabled any time a system outputs progressive scan (DVD player) or upconverts interlaced to progressive (TV).
