Dali Ikon 6 MK II - Worth it?

Hey all.

I am located in Denmark and thinking about buying the Dali Ikons after hearing them today. First, I was convinced i was going to buy some B&W CM1 or CM5 after comparing I was changed.

So, I found a guy willing to sell a pair, without scrathes and never been "overplayed" and always treated right with a good amp. He is asking 1287,82$ with 2 x 2 Van the hul hybrid bi-wire cable included. The speakers just turned 2 years and there is still 1 year left og warranty. I saw pics and they look just as new. A new pair cost 1682,75 without cable of course.

What is your take on this? A good price?

Regards, Michael

Michael, I think that
a) you must verity that they are in mint condition as claimed - including listing to them with music you know and like.
b) value of wire is $0 or very near it as any 12AWG will play exactly same minus the aesthetics
c) 25% or so discount for two year old product is too humble if I were you I'd ask to take cables out of the deal and get at least 33% off
d) Imo going with Dali is better choice than lower series B&W

Thank you very much - I've considered making a counteroffer concerning the cables. It may be a stupid question, and quite frankly I only have my ears to do the judgement since i am no expert, but what do you mean by: "as any 12AWG will play exactly same minus the aesthetics"

AWG is American standard for specifying cable thickness.
American wire gauge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

12 gauge cable is standard gauge for speakers for short and medium distances runs - aka from 2-3 meters to about 30-40 meters. Longer than that you'd need to go thinker 10 awg cable.

Re: aesthetics - I'm sure his cables would look better, but regular and very cheap "lamp cord" with home improvement store will work just as good, just wont look as good :)
There still cheap alternatives you want pretty cables - here in US - Parts Expres, Blue Jean cable sell some nice looking ones and not breaking the bank.

Ahh, thank you, that helped me out...

Well, God bless America, but even though I do a Randy March "Ohh, sorry, I THOUGHT THIS WAS AMERICA!" I dont think I willl be able to find those kind of stores here hehe. But nevertheless, I actually dont care much about the looks of the cable at the moment to be quite honest, and as far as I'am concerned you share that opinion with me.

The sound of those speakers just blew me away. The most precious thing I own is my B&O EarSet i3 headset and I listen to music with them about 8 hours a day hehe. Now I finally saved up to buy something nice :)

So, how much does 2 year affect the price / quality? On ppictures it looks great, all mint, and he ensures me it is treated with care. However, I have no idea of what to look for when I inspect them - any advice? And should I get a 33% discount before even accepting it?

Hey.

I contacted the seller again, and he is willing to sell it for 1125,09$ instead - without cables. Again, the item looks to be in perfect condition. What is your guys take on the price now? Seems fair or?
