My dad is pretty much blind now, so television is not a good source of entertainment for him , but he loves his music. He is still using a cd player that just broke which is hooked up to a receiver and then to his speakers, he likes it loud. I have convinced him to ditch the 700cd collection he has and we are now trying to move to digital. PROBLEM- I need to find something uses SD cards (each SD card would be a different style of music, easy to switch) and it will also need to hook into existing receiver. Lastly , it needs to be simple to use and inexpensive. Please help me find something.

I happen to know a blind audiophile, he uses an IPAD with siri, holds all his music, simply hits the siri button and says "siri play harry chapin cats in the cradle" and a second later the music starts....

very cool

That sounds like a good setup. I am just thinking that since my dad is not really interested in learning about new tech and although he loves his music, there is a lot that he would not remember title, album etc, that if I were to put it on the SD cards each being a different genre it would be almost the same as having cd's that contain tons of songs and easy for him to get his head around and also easy for me to update/change as needed.

then you could make it easy and make him some playlists, and he would say "siri play playlist number 3" and it will play, or they have a built in smart feature that picks and plays all kind of music, or he could just say "siri play pandora" ect... its really pretty simple..

very nice

Would I be able to use the L and R out on the back of this to hook into my dads current receiver? almost use this as a "player" and hook it into one of the inputs on the rear such as CD,DVD,Phono etc? wow, this might really work, just need to figure that out.
