DA PS-6 speaker replacement (newbie question)

Hi have a pair of 1980's era Design Acoustics PS-6 bookshelf speakers which have rotted surrounds. The woofer has a 5 3/4" cutout, and I'm guessing from the name (PS-6) that this is a 6" woofer (I don't know how/what to measure exactly.) I believe these are relatively good speakers and worth repairing. I'd like to replace the woofers with something worthy but not overly expensive. I looked at a few re-foaming links and believe I'd prefer the component replacement method, especially since one cone has been bent up a bit (not the dust cap.)

On the web, I found a person with the identical speaker who replaced them with some Dayton DC160S-8 6-1/2" Classic Shielded Woofer (Parts Express p/n 295-306). Since I know very little about this stuff, I'm looking for opinions/options. I don't want to spend much more than this (~$50), but I also don't want to trash them by installing junk.

Thanks for any thoughts.
