Crutchfield question

Anyone know if Crutchfield will take offers or give any discounts on their listed online prices? I was going to call, or chat with them to see if them will make a deal on a set of speakers. Thought I would ask here first to see if anyone had any luck. Most online companies I have found will not drop a price due to manufacture policies. Thanks

Crutchfield mostly uses MAP sheet pricing. Thus, the prices are primarily set my the manufactures with very strict guidelines. Most of the time involving very specific protected territories. However, they do offer some deals on their returns, B-stocks, Scratch & Dent, and etc. But, it certainly never hurts to try eh? The worst that could happen is that they say no. :):):)

My local dealer who unless you have deep pockets doesn’t treat one very well. I actually hate going in that store but it’s all we have here. So online is always my route and unless something is on sale it’s hard to negotiate.

I understand. Like I said, it never hurts to ask. All they can say is yes or no right? But, current models are often held to legal restriction albeit MAP pricing. MAP="Minimum Advertised Price". Territories are also often protected so that puts more pressure is placed upon the dealer to "earn your business" and NOT haggle so much over price. Sometimes there are ways to get around some of that BS. But, more often than not MAP Sheet pricing seems to work.

You can also look at the used market. Sites like Audiomart, Audiogon, and Acc4less(Refurbs) just to name a few. Always check your local Craigslist as well. Personally, I have not had any luck w/Craigslist. But, plenty others have. So, it is worth checking out inmho. Be sure to also check the classifieds sections on various sites as well. Best wishes!

Cheers,

Phil

I've had a couple of times where I called about something and they said, "Well, we have the XXXXXX in stock" When I asked, they gave me the same price as the lower models.

I wonder if they do any sort of price matching?
