My local dealer who unless you have deep pockets doesn’t treat one very well. I actually hate going in that store but it’s all we have here. So online is always my route and unless something is on sale it’s hard to negotiate.
I understand. Like I said, it never hurts to ask. All they can say is yes or no right? But, current models are often held to legal restriction albeit MAP pricing. MAP="Minimum Advertised Price". Territories are also often protected so that puts more pressure is placed upon the dealer to "earn your business" and NOT haggle so much over price. Sometimes there are ways to get around some of that BS. But, more often than not MAP Sheet pricing seems to work.
You can also look at the used market. Sites like Audiomart, Audiogon, and Acc4less(Refurbs) just to name a few. Always check your local Craigslist as well. Personally, I have not had any luck w/Craigslist. But, plenty others have. So, it is worth checking out inmho. Be sure to also check the classifieds sections on various sites as well. Best wishes!
Cheers,
Phil
