Has anyone seen Crossroads with (gagggggg!!!)Ralph Machio? The movie is ok, but it's got Vai in the end "cutting heads" against Machio for Willie's soul, if you can stand to go through the movie you'll be rewarded by some bad to the bone guitar playing....check it out It was just playing on HDNET I went and bought the DVD for nostalgia's sake, I originally saw it in the theater back in the late 80's ('87 I think, can't remember, getting old)anyway, netflix it, Vai plays a mean 6 string.

I remember liking the movie, even with Ralph Macchio in it. I think the last time I saw had to be a little after it came out. I really don't remember the specifics of the movie, just a few scenes. I'd probably pick it up if I saw it for $3.99 at bestbuy. Other than that, I doubt I 'd pay to see it.

You're right, how dare I insult "Chachi"! I'm the lowest!! Can you imagine of all people? Fonzi's cousin, I'm a wiener.......still to see Vai cut heads, it's worth going through it. I hate to say it, I paid 15.00 bucks for it---It's the Vai thing and a bit of nostalgia.

Sorry guys, Chachi was Scott Baio--these guys all look the same.

Ralph Macchio only did a few tv shows, and I think they all got cancelled pretty quick.

Scott Baio played Chachi on Happy Days and later on the spin-off series, Joanie Loves Chachi. And you can't forget his afterschool special where he played "The boy who drank too much." I forget his characters name, but it was something like "Buffy" or "Bambi" or something kind of girlish.

I saw a promo of the movie prior to release & Ry Cooder trained Ralph M to play.... That should have been included as a extra on the DVD. I wonder whose hands are on Ralphs telecaster when he played?

It was actually Steve Vai's hands on Ralphs telecaster. He simply reached around Ralph to play it. Don't worry, when you are THAT good it isn't a problem to do it. Awesome ending, apparently Gary Moore does a version playing both parts that is really cool.

Stratman, I agree completely about BS. LOL--this is the first time I truncated her name to her initials. Couldn't be more appropriate, could it?

While I think that many popular pop/rock female singers have weak voices--Jessica Simpson, Jessica's sister, and Britney come readily to mind--Britney is especially bad.

I saw a TV special on her. I should say that I own none of her music, and I don't want to. I've heard it in public sound systems and on the radio; I wouldn't criticize her if I never heard her. Her voice when the mix is finished is weak enough.

The Britney-centered TV segment that I saw had an extra mic in the sound booth when she was recording one of her hits. Wow, her unmixed voice was super-thin and nasal. She must require a great sound mixer to come off as even semi-good. (OK, I realize she's pretty and has a good body when she's fit and on stage, and that that can cover many vocal sins for her young fans.)

I like that BS She's a tool (in more ways than one ), she's pure marketing by-product, all fluff, no substance....It really pisses me off when the untalented get breaks in show biz because of appearance and/or controversy--(madonna)-- and I saw her in a club before she became "MADONNA", she was booed off stage by a bunch of kids, I'm not kidding, she darted off while cussing, this happened in Miami back in '83 in a placed called the Beat Club in Bird Road, (for any Miami people who read this thread.) But madonna obviously was and is a capable business woman first an entertainer later. Look at her now, she's close to 50 and she manages to get her self publicity in contoversy, not because of musical substance mind you....that's too hard it takes talent. Remember Milli Vanilli, man what a curse, those that complain that the disco "era" was bad must agree that the 80's in certain areas was as bad or worse. Sorry about the rant. Let's just spear Britney and get her out of her misery (and ours).
