Hello all.

First post here, I have the following kit.

Hisense PX2 Pro short throw projector
Denon AVR-X2800H
Dali Oberon 5 5.1 package
ELAC Debut A4.2 Dolby Atmos up pointing speakers.

I used to have some old Alumini speakers which i though sounded great, great sound fileds, great left and right and they felt bright and punchy.

But.. I got tempted and bout the DALi 5 and the atmos speakers. If i am honest I feel like i wasted £1700 they sound... bland.. there is no sound envolping me
or strong left right punch i got with the old almuni satellite speakers.. :(

I am hoping its down to user set up error.

On the denon i have gone manual settings and measure all speakers and put that in the settings, but i have no idea what to set the cross over settings.
Can anyone help me? the audio sounds a little flat, there is no crystal if that makes sense.

These are what are in by default.

Front : Full Range
Center : 40 htz
Surround : 60 htz
Front Dolby : 150 htz

I have thecrossover on the back on the sub set to around mid way, same for the volume.
I have turned off cinema eq and loudenss settings. Any help appreciated.

BTW i am mainly using ps5 set to Dolby atmos setting., denon shows atmos as well.

The uplift atmos speaker (on top of main speakers) seem waste of money nothing has vever made me feel like there was something aboveme, even when i turn them up to +13db.

Any help appreciated

First, make sure speaker configuration setting in the Denon is set to 7.1. Assign the amps for the up firing Height speakers as Front Dolby, not Front Height or Top Front if they are placed atop the Front speakers.

The subwoofer crossover setting should be maxed at 120Hz and the Volume set at 35%-50%. It should be connected to the receiver using its LFE port to one of the receiver’s subwoofer pre out ports.

Set the Front speaker crossovers to 80Hz, Set the Center Channel and Surrounds to 120Hz and the Dolby Atmos modules to 180Hz. Make sure the LPF of LFE for the subwoofer is set to 120Hz. Try these settings out and adjust to taste.

The speakers- are they Alumni, from Mordaunt Short? You might want to make that cloear for anyone who tries to help.

When playing a game supporting Dolby Atmos, check the input source audio signal display and sound mode used in the Denon. Is the signal reported as Dolby Atmos? Is the Dolby Atmos sound mode in use? With non Dolby Atmos games, is the signal reported as Multi Ch PCM? If so, what is the Sound mode in use?
