I'm relatively young (20) and don't know what my friends would think about how much Beach Boys stuff I listen to.

Not that its bad music, its arguably some of the best, but it just doesn't fit my generation.
Hey...Mozart isn't from any of our generations but his stuff is still OK too. I've been listening to the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson off and on for a long time and I think if Mozart were alive, he might write music like Brian.

Lots of The Blood Beetroots. Not something I'd normally listen to, but damn they have some good beats.

Man, I find that really awful songs I heard at a club or something get stuck in my head until I can't stand it anymore--I have to play it on Playlist or something to get over it; music I would never seek out and listen to nor would have any interest in naturally as I don't find it "musically rewarding." But it's catchy, fun, and sticks in my head; lately it's been all the Lady Gaga stuff and some dude named Kid Cudi (?) "Day n' Nite."

OK--how about "Party All the Time," by Eddie Murphy! I'm listening to it right now.

My Morning Jacket, Evil Urges. Way too poppy for my taste as my taste is generally, but it's really quite good. The songs are well crafted, well performed and smart enough that I don't feel dirty listening to it.

Men Without Hats - The Safety Dance
Pet Shot Boys - first four albums
A-Ha - first two albums
Mr. Mister - Kyrie Eleison, Broken Wings

Duran Duran

You know the stuff.

Dishwalla- Counting Blue Cars...
Haha I was just listening to that album last week.

It still sounds pretty good from a musical fidelity perspective--you gotta dig that bass line in "Charlie Brown's Parents."

If it's cringe-worthy, why do you listen to it? If you like it, how is it cringe-worthy?

It doesn't take much to figure out that "cringe worthy" refers to general consensus, not personal opinion. Obviously you're not going to listen to something that you yourself can't stand.....I mean, isn't that obvious? It was to everyone else in the thread.

High NRG 80's songs is my own little dirty sin. Others may cringe and think it is cheesy but it brings back cheesier memories.

Clarence Carter - Strokin'
Michael Bow - Love and Devotion
Paul Lekakis - Boom Boom Boom
Tiffany - I think we alone now
Mel and Kim - Respectable
Taylor Dane - Tell it to my heart.

Cringe-worthy is completely subjective and utterly personal. The cringe factor comes from listening to music that projects an image that is painfully different from how the listener wants to be seen. It's a seriously tough-guy listening to boy choirs or the sensitive, poetic woman with a taste for skinhead music or the person with the cutting edge outsider taste listening to Bing Crosby.
