credit card dispute

Well, here I go again with this company, maybe. Or I'm making something that isn't too bad. Long story short in Oct I purchased tv, surround sound, speakers, receiver and power protector from a company. We had installation issues (which I posted here) and finally hard to put the purchase "in dispute" on the credit card because the company wouldn't credit me for cables they took back. I've tried to talk, email, etc and can get nothing. The credit card has nothing because the company wouldn't answer them. So...........does that mean this is mine without paying? That is not what I want. I even asked the company to take the entire purchase back in Oct to which they didn't want to do that.

Now I find that the company has changed names. Well that do anything? I'd really like to pay for what I purchased, minus the cables. Why isn't this comapny any more concerned to get their money? And since there is nothing on the credit card can they just show up on my doorstep and demand money? Ot can they recharge this on the credit card. There is nothing on my credit report yet. That makes me nervous for sure. I really dig this system but its not been worth the trouble, if ya know what I mean.

Inform your CC company of the name change and tell them that there are not to be any charges authorized to that company without your prior verbal consent.

What Dave said is about the best you can do. The company probably filed ch.11 and was purchased by someone else and you got a free system out of the deal.
