The Creative Audigy has a non standard RCA plug with 3 strips (not the usual stereo 2 stripes)

and all 7.1 sound systems i have seem have 4 rca or 8 Composite Plugs.

anyone know where i can find the RCA plug required? or anyother solutions :)

thanks

Its done that way on purpose, to force you to buy the Creative 7.1 speakers, because Creative only bundles the 3-to-1 jack with their 7.1 speaker sets. You cant buy just the jack, and nobody else has one. Part of the reason I dont buy Creative sound cards. Its the same reason why they dont have a standard coax or optical digital out like everyone else.

Another reason I avoid Creative products is because of their bloated "driver" packs that include about 50 megs of crap you don't want or need. More pro-oriented companies like AudioTrak and M-Audio have very basic driver sets that get the job done without clogging your computer with junk.

Exactly. M-Audio's Revolution 7.1 sounds better than the Audigy, and has the standard 4 mini-jacks for direct connection to speakers. They were also kind enough to include a standard coax digital out.

I found the cable im going to buy one and see if it is compatible .

It appears to be a standard cable for Audio Video hook up on Video Cameras.

I actually had no idea they did that. I always assumed there were more connectors on the card for 7.1... thanks for th info.

oh thank god it actually works , only problem stereo has male RCA plugs so does the LCD TV AV adapter
standard AV 3.5 mm to 3x RCA / composite

so i have to make 3x female rca to female rca :(
done 2 :)

line out 1 white = Front Left
Red = Front Right

line out 2 white = rear left
Red = Side Right
all important Yellow = Right Rear

Line OUt 3 White = Front Centre
Red = Side Left
Yellow = Subwoofer

i have two options the 5.1 system has choice 6 x rca adapters (they plug into back of DVD players) or 3 x male 3.5mm jacks.

i thought that was pretty common?

oh i see where you coming from, as a solution to neatness the maker of the system chose a 6 pin plug that resembles a ps2 plug on a mouse, that then runs a single thick/grouped cable to your input device
in the ends with 3 x 3.5mm jacks,

included is 3 x 3.5mm female to 2 male RCA adapters

hense the ploblem mael to male.
but it easy fixed
