creating 'wall of sound'

Hello everyone,
I have several sets of speakers, from ar2, dcm time window, polk audio, boston acoustics, electrovoice, acousitic image monitors, etc. I would like use some of these, using 3 or more per side, without getting a muddled sound. If anyone has actually tried this, I'd like to know if it sounded good to you. Thanks.

Sell all of them, buy a GREAT set of speakers, a good amp, and the rest is history. You will have a great sound stage, and if you want a wall of sound, just play it loud in mono.

Rick has good advice. Using multiple speaker like you suggest wont work. Your receiver can't handle a parallel load (<6 ohms) and there will be cancellation between the drivers.

I think the advice to sell off your lot and get and matched set is good advice. I have heard cobled together systems before and you can tell that nothing is voice matched. It just doesn't sound right!?!

I agree with the above posts. A single pair of speakers with good imaging will effectively create the impression of a "wall of sound" on their own. Conversely, a bunch of mismatched speakers will interfere with each other and create nothing but a muddled mess.

I've got to agree here. Line source speakers will give you a much better sound then mix matched speakers.
