I just read the article about subwoofer calibration and I have a question.
Having the EMP5ti mains, center and rears, should I set my crossover to 60 hz or 80? The article mentioned to set your crossover about 10 hz above your speakers low end cutoff. Could you all explain that to me? I am still a bit confused. A lot of people have mentioned 80 hz in the past.....

80 hz is good starting point and is also what THX recommends. However, every room and system are different, and you will have to experiment to get what sounds best to you. Without taking some measurements you will only be guessing anyways.

Do I need a y splitter for the sub for LR or just the single line for LFE?

Most subs will work fine with a single input. However there are a few that will not detect a signal and auto-on unless you use a splitter. Try it without first.
