Even if the site is correct and someone did used automated reviews to add some positive reviews, doesn't mean that the product is bad. But I usually try to check it on this site before I buy especially on more expensive items.
Looks like a nice find, definitely saved for future use.

That site busts false reviews? Fake reviews are definitely bs and can be very misleading, but it doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't work, right?

*Edit: I see you addressed that above already.
Correct.

I look at as many sites as possible to see how a device stacks up and on Amazon I look at grammar and if they're verified.

I do wish it had a trigger port since my AVR lacks an AC outlet.
I think most mid-price AVRs don't have AC outlets. They have USB inputs, so the USB fans would work as trigger.

Too bad, a trigger port would have been nice.

Important thing is that it works. Let us know what kind of Temp reading you get. :D

Wait a minute!! I just remembered this thing has two USB ports, maybe if I read the manual... oh the wife is going to have a field day.... I'm going to go download the manual now.

Hopefully the USB will work for you. I've been connecting/triggering the fans via USB ports.

But I wonder if the USB ports would power up the LCD screen. I was thinking those USB ports were only used to power additional fans on the unit.

Well, per the manual it's to use more of these units. I do see how I can program it to auto on depending on temp, I'm going to experiment on it tonight.

I do feel this warrants repeating. While using the device on the lowest setting the AVR felt VERY cool to the touch in the hot zones which you know has got to be adding valuable life span to this hot monster.

It's a good idea, but it would piss me off if a top name product ran too hot. That would be a deal breaker for me from that point on.

The other thing about fans is, in order to pull air through, dust gets pulled through with it so, adds a periodic cleaning step to the mix as well. Would suck going to send something back for warranty and them claim it was due to too much dust, or that the cover had been removed by an unauthorized person that cleaned it or that they damaged it somehow doing so.

Well, my version of too hot may be different than other people. Agreed the fans pull air through, I have OCD so everything gets cleaned out often.

I bought one of these units when I got my new Denon x4200w. You mention being unhappy at a product that ran hot. Its not necessarily because of the product but where we PUT the product that can cause heat trapping. Believe it or not, I believe Denon says they want 6 inches of unobstructed top headspace for cooling plus xx inches on the sides. In a lot of shelving, racks and other installs, the receiver isn't getting 6 inches of unobstructed cooling headroom. Many installs are great to look at but bad for heat exhaustion.

I need my new unit to last until the funeral is over, so it has to go quite a while. Someone posted an article about these cooling units and they caught my eye. I had a few budget dollars left over since I went refurbished on the AVR so I decided to get one. I don't necessarily need one, but I do love the idea of running my new all powerful AVR as cool as a slab of marble.

My unit is dead quiet. It looks like part of the AVR: you literally can't see it unless you're looking for it. It does exactly what it says it does: it keeps the heat out and my Denon cool. As far as dust goes : I'm not sure that's any more of an issue with the unit than without it. Dust buildup within the fan unit may occur more often than what would normally build up on the AVR. I don't mind that so much because the fan unit is easily blown out with some canned air. I clean all my electronics occasionally so it would just be one more thing to squirt.

This cooling/fan unit isn't a "need" for me. I got it because it sounded like a cool idea (I love a good pun):p

I agreed fans are a good idea. I have fans. Just noticed dust occurs more frequently, and more deeply into the equipment I paired them with. I would be concerned with how picky companies can be with warranties and taking covers off of things. My Behringer amp has fans, as does my pc, my welding machines both at home and at work.

Other than that, I tend to use overkill on the headroom side of things. Again, the same with my welding machines and the service I had upgraded into my home to power it all.

I would not be happy with a situation that had my amps at the point of shutting down or near that limit with things I hope to keep long term. Just a personal preference is all.
