Stayed out last night from 10-2 watching meteors. Never successfully captured one on 'film'. Missed several I know due to a heavy layer of dew on my lens, of which I was unaware! Live and learn I guess. Hope to have another chance tonight if the clouds hold off. This one was a shot I did towards the end.

Do you shoot sunrises too? If so, which do you prefer, and which do have the most success with?

I generally just shoot the sunsets when we are at the family summer cottage for a week or so. Sunrises would be pretty decent over the nearby dunes, but sunrises come to early for me generally. Here where I live, southeast Ohio, they don't seem as exciting most of the time. We like the sunsets at the lake pre and post storm. I used a polarized filter for this shot.

Yeah, me too. I'm so glad I got up when I do, but getting up is a real struggle sometimes. I like my bed.

Interesting. For my part, my success with sunrise far exceeds that of sunset, though I have no particular preference either way (it's the image I am concerned about the most).

Speaking of photos from phones (my is original Moto Droid), I got this last week during Miami vacation - Not great, but I like it. Hopefully my dslr caught some good ones as well....

Since we're on the subject of sunrises/sunsets, here is mine. I took it during my Mediterranean cruise. They are small islands off the coast of Italy. I even have the GPS coordinates because I took the pic on my iphone too (although not nearly as high quality lol)
