Constant Buzzing Sound On My Pioneer vsx-9900s

i have a pioneer vsx-9900s home reciever and when i have it turned on i get a constant buzzing sound. almost like feedback or something . when i turn the volume up it gets louder and when i turn volume all the way down it gets quieter but still hear it. ive check my wires and rca cables and those are fine. it does it even with using the tuner. anyone know what may be the problem???

Assuming you hear it from the speakers:

1) If you can hear it at normal listening distances and levels, it sounds like the receiver has a problem.
If so, it's time to visit a tech or replace it.

2) If you have to put your ear to the speakers, it's most likely normal.

I include both options because your complaint doesn't specify which...

3 If it's coming from the receiver itself, it's most likely a power transformer on the way out.
See option 1 above.

I would presume the buzzing is from the speakers, not a mechanical buzz?

I would start troubleshooting as well.
Do you have the cable TV cable connected to anything remotely connected to the receiver, even a TV that may be connected from the receiver?
In any case, disconnect the cable TV cable from the wall and see if this buzz goes away and let us know.

i unplugged everything from the wall plug in-------------

i unplugged everything from the power plug and left just my receiver plugged in and unplugged all rca's from receiver and left just 2 speakers on my A channel connected and i still get the buzzing sound from speakers. i can have volume turned all the way down and be 10 feet from speakers and hear buzzing sound

With no other component input connected to that amp/receiver, just the speakers and is buzzing loud enough to hear from 10ft, it doesn't sound good. Perhaps a capacitor not doing its job someplace?

Does it have a 2 prong power cable by chance? Is this a new issue or new component and has this issue?

Does it happen on all the inputs?

Tuner, aux, CD. DVD, etc? Does it change at all when you change them? This sounds like a ground or PS issue to me, if I had to guess.

Reading his post and if I understood it correctly, he unplugged everything from his unit except the speakers and he still has this. So, how could it be ground loop? Internal component issues, most certainly, a bad cap most likely?

I had the same problem

I have a Harmon 5.1 power amp and had the same issue...it was coming directly from the amp and I solved it. I bought a Monster HTS 3500 from accessoris4less for about $140 and the problem went away.
