Considering Outlaw 2200 Monoblocks???

I was wondering if anyone can help me here. I currently am using a B&K Reference 7250 (5X200) amp in my HT system. I was wondering if anyone could give me some input about the Outlaw 2200 Monoblocks, which I am considering upgrading to. Would this be an upgrade? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

While the idea of having separate units for each amp is appealing, I'd have a hard time believing a switch from a B&K, albeit a multi-channel amp, to the Outlaw monoblocks would be upgrade. Keep in mind, this is coming from an Outlaw 755 200x5 owner.

Don't get me wrong, I think Outlaw makes a tremendous product for the price, but it would take some serious critical listening to determine whether the monoblocks would be a better choice.

i agree with tomd51. plus, you'd go from having 1 amplifier plug to 5 plugs (or as many 2200 as you end up buying). at best this is a hassle. at worst, it's a problem if you don't have enough outlets or if your surge protector is incapable of handling that.

I actually love my B&K, but I am getting a new entertainment center and the B&K is 19 inches deep and will not fit properly. I figured this was a way to overcome this problem. I was just curious if anyone had any expierience with the monoblocks. You guys are right though, 5 amps and 5 power cords seems like alot of clutter. Again, I do love my B&K. Thanks for the input.

Another option you might have is to look at a similar 5 channel amp that's not as deep as the B&K. I doubt you'd have trouble finding that one a new home if you did...

you could always put your current B&K out of the new entertainment center on or in its own little stand. unless you have roudy/destructive kids, curious pets, or a wife who would not approve, that might be an option. tell her it's the latest rage in home furnishings and that it helps heat the house, thus reducing those nasty natural gas bills.
