Just joined the forum, and I am totally new at audio systems.
I have been fortunate to buy the EV Sonic XS 4.1 system (previous owner, it appears barely used). I am setting the system up for use with the music throughput of my MacBook Pro laptop.
I've run into a fundamental issue - my laptop puts out 2 channels of audio, via the chassis-mount stereo mini-jack connector. The system, however, appears to be looking for 4 channels. What is the right way to employ the system here?
I'm guessing that you may want to 'gang' the left and right channels, so that each channel out of the computer hits one front and one rear speaker. The instruction manual for this 5 speaker system is very brief and has nothing to say on this point, other than to connect 'red plugs to right line inputs' and 'white plugs to left line inputs'.
It appears the company (Telex) no longer exists, so no further help to be had there.
