connecting sony speakers with weird connector for surround speakers?

Seriously, I have no life.
oh didn't even think of that, How much of a risk is that.
Let me ask you one more question. Is that HTIB able to be powered from internal batteries? I ask that, as if it is then those speakers are probably actually lower then four ohms, and more like 2 ohms. The reason for that is that the amps have to be able to deliver power at a lower voltage and that means low impedance speakers, as you need more current to get the same power at a lower voltage.

That is more a boom box than HTIB. I’d never connect those speakers to an AVR unless you want to melt it down. Denon receivers don’t need anymore help getting very hot.;)

Soldering is only one method for splicing, and the most difficult. For most people, other methods discussed in the article work fine, especially those using crimped connections. But of course, if your existing wire is long enough there’s no need to splice. I’m surprised to hear that a boombox system included 40-50 ft. of speaker wire for the detachable speakers.

no its only like 4 feet long lol, Its small room so I sit pretty close, but yeah realistically I would need to extend the wire. Do they not make any kinds of adapter piece from this sony connector? that would be the easiest if that exists.
Also do you guys recommend and specific speakers for surrounds that would fit well with the emotiva b1's. Maybe I'll just buy some already instead of dealing with this hassle plus the impedance risk.

I don't think it has internal batteries it has to be plugged in to work, if that's what you're asking.

yeah I guess I won't bother with it then. It's strange to me like the sony speaker look "cool" and are bigger than the emotiva I have, but the emotiva sounds sooo much better, I know the size doesn't necessarily matter. But are all these HTIB speakers just always low quality speakers?

HTIB speakers are generally low quality, same for these mini-systems. They're more about a packaged price point. Personally I think those Sony are kinda fugly , but beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

You might check out used speakers in your area as a way to get surrounds at a discount. Or another pair of B1s.....

Back to the proprietary connector, was that used into the speaker?

no its just a non detachable wire coming out the speaker the other end has the connector. But honestly after all the responses I don't think I'm gonna bother using them.
Hmm another pair of b1s...
