Hi,
I just moved into a new house with structural wiring -- have internet connectivity through multiple CAT5e ports in the house. I presume I could easily get a home network set up. My next ambitious plan would be to put together a home audio system, and have it play music stored on my media center PC.
The problem is that the computer will be in one room and the audio setup in another. Is there any way I can use the existing pre-wiring in the house to connect the computer to a A/V receiver?
I haven't bought a receiver just yet -- but thought I'd pose this question upfront, to figure out if an ethernet port on the receiver would be of any use at all.
(If connecting the computer to the receiver is indeed possible, I suppose I could also go for a receiver with a USB port (instead of ethernet), and use a ethernet to USB adaptor ...)
Thanks
